the new year is here
have you ever wondered why Aries is the “baby” of the Zodiac?
or why April 1st is known as “April Fools Day”?
has January 1st never felt like a “new beginning” to you?
⁇⁇
the answer to all of these is — Spring Equinox 🌸
Spring is the beginning.
nature’s reset.
the heralding in of new life, new blooms, fresh starts.
and that day is today.
a lil history lesson for you — in ancient cultures, such as the Romans and Hindus, April 1st was dubbed as New Years Day because Spring Equinox was considered the “new year”. then came the Gregorian calendar and it was all switched up and our natural cycle of beginning was turned upside down.
think about it. January first is peek winter time. who wants to celebrate and dust cobwebs and have goals and and and… NO! winter is hibernation time. winter is cozy time. nothing “new” is happening. no flowers are blooming, the sun sets at like 5pm, it’s dark and cold. that’s why spring just MAKES SENSE, right?
but when the Gregorian calendar was implemented, a lot of people chose to keep April 1st as their New Years Day… and they were called “fools”.
crazy, right?
all that to say…
with this new start and fresh beginning, I wanted to officially launch my blog through Awaken Alma Artistry. as a lot of you know, I am a published author and I journal, gosh, like every day. but I’ve had a lot of people ask me if they could read my writings. I used to have a blog way back when that grew to thousands of followers but since then, I haven’t had a public platform to share my writings.
until now.
